Abstract.<\/em><\/strong> The article analyzes the interconnection between McCarthyism as a unique event in the U.S. political history and Hollywood\u2019s reaction to its manifestations in the late 1940s \u2014 the first half of the 1950s. The article analyzes the actions of the House Un-American Activities Committee (a committee of the U.S. House of Representatives) created to discredit a number of representatives of Hollywood. It also analyzes U.S. Senator Joseph McCarthy\u2019s actions in the 1950s.<\/p>\n
