Abstract. The exploration of the influence of Carlos Castaneda\u02bcs works on Viktor Pelevin\u02bcs works\u00a0 is relevant, for the issue of conventionality is of great research interest. The implausibility of Pelevin\u02bcs works is viewed through the prism of artistic methods that are used by modern writers to create an unlikely universe. The issue of secondary artistic convention is characterized by a new approach to the use of esoteric elements in postmodern novels, including novels by Carlos Castaneda, which accounts for the relevance of the research. Castaneda\u02bcs influence on artistic conventionality can be seen in Pelevin\u02bcs novel \u201cSecret Views of Mount Fuji\u201d. The aim of the article is to investigate the novel \u201cSecret Views of Mount Fuji\u201d through the prismof Castaneda\u02bcs artistic influence. The object of the research is the implementation of Castaneda\u02bcs views in the context of a secondary reality. The article analyzes the artistic embodiment of such concepts of Castaneda\u02bcs fictional universe as \u201cstalkers\u201d, \u201dEagle emanation\u201d (as an element of Buddhist philosophy of dhyanas), \u201cbestowing awareness\u201d, and \u201cdevouring\u201d in magical feminism fiction. Pelevin\u02bcs deity lives in Castaneda\u02bcs art-of-dreaming universe. The author concludes that Castaneda\u02bcs ideas of en-dowing one with awareness and depriving one of awareness undergo some transformation in Pelevin\u02bcs works. The author underlines that Pelevin uses Castaneda\u02bcs esoteric ideas to ridicule gender superiority as a leading feature of feminism.<\/p>\n
