The article analyzes this phenomenon and the causes that gave rise to it. The latter include spreading liberal ideas in society, serious political and socio-economic changes: migration of men, increasing expansion of education, involvement of women in the social and political life of British society. It is concluded that, on the one hand, \u201cthe rebellious daughters\u201d were a real social phenomenon, and on the other hand, they represented a discursive phenomenon, actively discussed on the pages of British newspapers and magazines in 1894.
