Abstract.<\/em><\/strong> The peer-reviewed monograph by Olga Mikhaylovna Valova, doctor of philology, professor of Vyatka State University for the Humanities, and Vladimir Grigoryevich Reshetov, Doctor of Philology, Professor of Ryazan State University named for S. A. Yesenin, is devoted to the study of a specific aspect of O. Wilde\u2019s work: the genre and style specificity of the British playwright\u2019s tragedies. The dominant feature of the study is the philosophical component of the writer\u2019s work, as well as the philosophical basis of his aestheticism, so, analyzing the plays in detail and consistently, the authors of the monograph do not limit themselves to the consideration of Wilde\u2019s dramatic heritage alone, presenting in their work a new holistic portrait of this major figure of the English decadence. The monograph was published on the eve of Oscar Wilde\u2019s 170th<\/sup> anniversary.<\/p>\n
