Chronotope model of the poetic world in Ya P. Polonsky\u2019s lyrics in his late period<\/h1>\n

Abstract<\/strong><\/p>\n

The relevance of the study is determined by the insufficient research of Ya. P. Polonsky\u2019s lyrics of the years 1880-1898. The article attempts to determine the features of the formation and functioning of the chronotope model of the world depicted by the poet. For this purpose, the types of spatio-temporal construction of a number of works of the studied period are specified. The theoretical basis of the study consists of works devoted to the analysis of: the category of literary chronotope (M. M. Bakhtin, V. N. Toporov, et al.); genre and narrative specificity of the lyrical text (E. E. Zavyalova, O. V. Zyryanova, A. A. Chevtaev, etc.); the life and work of Ya. P. Polonsky (A. I. Lagunova, D. O. Ushakova, T. V. Fedoseeva, etc.). The analysis identifies three levels of the chronotope model in Polonsky\u2019s works. The first level consists of basic substructures (natural, domestic, road, and urban chronotopes), which transforms the objective world to symbols. Genre structures (elegy and ballad) are distinguished on the second level, serving to develop the lyrical plot. The third level is governed by metachronotope superstructures (memory, threshold, encounter, philosophical and eternal, historical and cultural), which facilitate the expression of ideological and axiological meanings. The result of this study is a system of interdependent spatio-temporal layers of the poet\u2019s lyrical world. The domestic chronotope, in interaction with the natural, road, and urban chronotopes, functions as a transition from objects to their symbolic representation. In the elegiac and ballad chronotopes, motifs of fate, faith, and the tragedy of earthly existence are combined to create narratives of loss and disappointment. The system is completed by the chronotope of memory, serving a philosophical and eternal and cultural-historical function. Individual experience is transformed into reflections on the borderline forms of human existence and the search for spiritual transcendence of earthly existence. It is concluded that the chronotope in Polonsky\u2019s lyrical verse is not only a factor that produces meanings but also a crucial tool for existential reflection, ensuring the unity of the images, events and spiritual-philosophical levels of the artistic world of his works.<\/p>\n
