Abstract<\/strong>Despite persistent scholarly interest in Nina Petrovskaya primarily from biographical perspective, her fiction has to date remained insufficiently examined as an independent and coherent aesthetic phenomenon, and the collection of short stories Sanctus amor is rarely approached as a unified artistic cycle possessing internal compositional and semantic integrity. This article aims to analyze the typology of female characters within the framework of the author\u2019s conception of love, death, and spiritual quest. The study focuses on identifying the motif-based and imagistic structure of the female figures and on tracing the dynamics of their transformations. It is demonstrated that the integrity of Sanctus amor is ensured by a unifying narrative of the search for authentic love, a system of recurring motifs, and a stable opposition between the idyllic (true) and demonic (false) types of heroines. The demonic type is shown to be realized in two variants \u2014 earthly and infernal \u2014 which differ in their degree of involvement in the sphere of everyday life and in the nature of their destructive influence on the narrator. An important position in Sanctus amor is occupied by the concept of spectrality, which extends both to demonic female figures and to the narrator himself. Spectrality is interpreted as a state of spiritual death, characterized by the loss of the capacity for love and genuine feelings. The analysis leads to the conclusion that Petrovskaya\u2019s typology of female characters is dynamic in its nature and reflects existential problems associated with erroneous choice, pursuit of an ideal, and the aspiration toward transformation.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
