Abstract<\/strong>Based on the results of the 15th Conference of Young Scientists \u201cCatchment-River-Estuary,\u201d we identified the predominant areas of fundamental and applied geographical research among the participants of the conference. We observe a significant increase in interest in riverbed processes. This is explained by the regular occurrence of adverse and even catastrophic events on Russian rivers. Priority areas of research for Russian hydrologists include assessing erosion risks in lowland river catchments, coordinating hydrological observations and GIS technologies, and determining the extent of pollution in the estuaries of large rivers and adjacent marine areas. Furthermore, we witness a trend toward increased attention to the issues of interaction between hydrologists and geomorphometrists with soil scientists and agronomists. This is evident in the reports of conference participants from the Central Black Earth Economic Region of Russia and the adjacent regions.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
