Abstract. The study of emigration and transition to the service of other sovereigns of natives of the corporations of appanage boyars and grand-ducal servants is a significant task of historical research, and its relevance of which is supported by the increased research interest in this large-scale phenomenon of socio-political history of the 15th–16th centuries. The issue of departure of Ryazan residents to the Grand Duchy of Lithuania, which became the last refuge for Prince Ivan Ivanovich Ryazan, has not yet been properly developed in our historiography. The purpose of our research is to identify references of probable representatives of the Ryazan elite, who moved to the service of the Lithuanian Grand Dukes in the period up to 1521, to establish their origin, official and landowning status, to outline the circle of their family ties. The analysis of written sources, first of all acts of the Lithuanian metrics and a number of other documentary inventories, has allowed us to collect information on only several persons, in the past connected (presumably or precisely) with the court of Ryazan Princes; when it was possible, the revealed data have been compared with data of genealogical lists. In the period of the late 15th — mid-16th century in Lithuania served Matvei Denisyevich Bulgak Yuriev, Petr-Afanasy Glebov, Ivan Ivanovich Kobyakov, as well as representatives of the Rezantsov and Rezanetses families, who had the status of grand ducal “nobles.” The small number of natives from Ryazan on the territory of Lithuania additionally testifies to the fact that both before and during the liquidation of the independence of the Ryazan State the local elite was oriented to the service of the Moscow grand dukes. This, among other things, explains the refusal of most Ryazan boyars and boyar children to support their sovereign in 1521.
