Abstract. The relevance of the study is caused by insufficient descriptions of many features of V. R. Tsoi’s poetics. The aim was to reveal the dialogical relationship between the hero and reality in Viktor Tsoi’s poetic world. The structure of the study is determined by its objectives: analyzing the poet’s lyrics, tracing his stylistic evolution, identifying the oriental component in the style, defining the lyrical hero’s image, determining the specificity of absurdity and paradox in the worldview and style of the author. The analysis is based on formal, synthetic, cultural-historical, semiotic and axiological methods, as well as dialectical general scientific approach. The subject of the study is the motif of destruction of the image of reality in Tsoi’s poetics. It is understood as deconstruction of the concrete-realistic image of external reality, taken as the starting point of the author’s aesthetic search. We demonstrate that the lyrical hero perceives this destruction of reality as a way of understanding it. This motif organically stems from the philosophical worldview of the hero and is formed through absurdization of his speech. The images of Oriental cultures and philosophy reinforce the antinomic character of logical and extra-logical perception of reality, which, in turn, exposes the acute paradoxical thinking of the hero. The motif of deconstruction of external reality at the next stage of Tsoi’s creativity developed into a complex, symbolic, existential vision of the world, which required appropriate poetic speech. It is shown that the trajectory of the stylistic evolution of V. R. Tsoi is also in line with the Russian literary tradition and reflects the dialogical relationship of the lyrical hero with reality.
