Football management crisis in Leningrad in 1925–1927
AbstractThis article is devoted to the duplication of activities in the governing bodies of football sports in Leningrad in 1925–1927. The present study is relevant due to the identification of structural issues characteristic of modern domestic football in the context of external and internal organizational challenges (problems of refereeing, attracting spectators to football and the participation of football players in community work) and contributes to the study of the adaptation of Leningrad football activists to the rapidly changing conditions of sports life as part of socio-political processes and phenomena. The purpose of the present article is to analyze the main actions to overcome the problems of parallel administration in Leningrad football in 1925–1927. The subject of the current study is the activities of Leningradsports bodies to resolve the issues of parallel management. Based on press materials (sports magazines and newspapers in Moscow and Leningrad, as well as national periodicals) and the Central State Archive of St. Petersburg, the paper analyzes the main football events in Leningrad during the period under review. The author of the article comes to the conclusion that there are objective reasons due to parallelism in Leningrad football management during the period under study and to insufficient handling of the problem of parallel management of Leningrad football by the end of 1927. The paper admits the importance of dividing the areas of responsibility between the two major football organizations in the city. The research results can be applied to courses on the history of St. Petersburg and everyday life history, as well as to privateand public museum collections.
