Abstract. The current review provides an analytical overview of the main points of N. V. Kolgushkina’s book “The color of my family is dear to me”: Photoalbum of the Sreznevsky dynasty (Ryazan, 2025). The publication possesses an original concept and genre specificity. The author of the review correlates the album with the Encyclopedia of the life of I. I. Sreznevsky and his descendants. Mention is made of an interesting feature in the structure of the book, which also presents a visual history of the country through images. The author emphasizes the source value of the presented photographs, drawings and illustrations, which are based on copies from original archival documents and fragments of family collections of I. I. Sreznevsky’s descendants. Many materials have not been published before. The analyzed album can certainly become a guide for photographic chronicles of prominent scientists.
